Rain can be rare on Hilton Head, but when an occasional island shower does occur here are some fun things to check out.

First off, let’s talk about a little alfresco dining and cocktails. There are a number of waterside restaurants that offer outdoor, covered (and even heated when need be) dining.

Both Skull Creek Boathouse and Dockside Waterfront Restaurant are nestled side by side in a picture-perfect setting right on the meandering waters of Skull Creek. The location is known for legendary sunsets (they can even be more spectacular on days with rain passing through).

Anchoring Shelter Cove Center’s charming shops and beautiful park along the Broad Creek waterfront is Poseidon: two stories of indoor and outdoor music, laughter, clinking glasses, and the tantalizing scents of fresh-catch seafood and fine steaks. Down the water on the other side of Broad Creek is Fishcamp: a sea foodie’s fantasy right along the banks of Broad Creek. It has extensive outside seating including a full bar all undercover from the elements.

Head over to Bluffton for some spirited fun at the recently opened Burnt Church Distillery. This remarkable and breathtaking piece of architecture is home to a variety of craft spirits all inspired by the history, legend, and lore of Hilton Head and the Lowcountry. Enjoy taste nuances with sipping flights while uncovering hidden local mysteries. From Palmer’s Stretch Whiskey to Devil’s Elbow Gin, “These are spirits with a story to tell.”

Discover something new! Rain or shine, come find some fun at the Coastal Discovery Museum! This is a family-friendly experience that will have you and your little sand crabs amazed. The museum exposes and educates you on Hilton Head's unique and diverse ecological and cultural history through exhibits, expert lectures, live animal presentations, and more.

Hit the links–virtually that is! Bring your competitive spirit and get ready to grip it and rip it at Chronic Golf, Hilton Head’s indoor golf & multi e-sport simulation sports bar. Whether you’re a low handicapper, or you’ve never teed it up, there’s all kinds of action to be had including great food and spirits.

Put the pedal to the metal at Bluffton’s new indoor go-karting fun zone: K1. It’s non-stop action for everything from birthday parties to corporate events. If you’ve got a need for speed, K1 is the place to be. It has it all: 1 supercharged indoor track, adult and Junior electric karts, nightclub-style lighting, and the Paddock Lounge restaurant with a variety of delicious food and wine & beer.
