Fantastic
Great property, super clean inside and out! Love the multiple den areas - kids were able to chill in one and adults in the other. Proximity to beach is closest we’ve ever had. Two minute walk from the door to the water. We’ve been coming to HHI for years and already decided we’re coming back to this property!

Fantastic house and location!
We loved our time at 6 Cat Boat. The house was great, light and comfortable, and the kids loved the heated pool. The location is amazing as the walk to the beach is about sixty seconds and the view was incredible. We loved this little vacation and plan on returning soon.

Love this house!
We stayed at 6 Cat Boat this last week and we all agreed we love this house! Myself, my husband and our 3 daughters all felt the set up was convenient, all on one floor and super spacious for us! Naptime was a breeze as the bedrooms were all very quiet and dark. The pools are right outside your door, but even with kids playing in the pools the house was quiet inside!! The beach path is right there and the outdoor shower had cold and warm water to rinse off at. This house was truly perfect for us. The kitchen had everything you could need. Plenty of counter and pantry space. The bedrooms was very large and the beds were all very comfortable. The house was clean and really beautiful. We actually were able to extend our stay and relax an extra day thanks to the wonderful management team. Sammie and Carrie both were very helpful and got back to us with our requests to stay right away. Our kids loved all the decor, turtles, frogs crocodiles and the colors we loved the comfort of the home. Even the carpet was super soft!! We come to Hilton head 2-3 times a year and we will absolutely be booking this house again!!

Fantastic location
2 families made up of 10 people (4 adults, 3 teenagers and 3 kids) stayed in 6 Cat Boat June 13-20 2020. The location cant be beat. Walk out the back door and enter the beach path. The house is directly across the street from ocean front houses. Bedrooms - bedroom one is large master with large master bathroom and walk in closet. The walk in closet is so big we had a small child sleep on an air mattress in the closet. Bedroom 2 is a smaller with a queen size bed and private bathroom. We felt the bed was very uncomfortable. . Bedroom 3 is nice size and has two full size beds. Bedroom 4 has 2 single beds, no windows or closet but big enough to also have an air mattress on floor if needed. Pools - there is a smaller pool with very small hot tub out the back door and a larger pool out the side door off the kitchen with a gate to the beach path. Kitchen - open concept with bar stools. If you plan to cook bring cutting boards, oven mits etc. There is a blender and a coffee maker and most everything else you will need. We had a great vacation in 6 Cat Boat.

Great house
This house is great for a family. Very comfortable. One problem is the second pool in the back of house is leaking and not useful. Therefore hot tub also not useable. Front pool is great. My kids were looking forward to both pools and hot tub. We were also not offered any type of refund for this issue after many trips from pool company. They did try to correct problem, but pool still empties and no filter. I would rent again it pool fixed and offered a small refund.

Shallow pool great for young children
5* overall. The childrens rooms are close to the kitchen, but that's a tradeoff for the pleasure of having everything on one floor. One of the king beds was a bit soft, but at least we didn't roll into each other.

Great property in PD
We really enjoyed this home during our vacation. Great location, right next to the beach path (maybe a 2 minute walk to the beach?), quiet street. Bikes were included with the stay - loved that too! The home is very comfortable with plenty of room to spread out. Nice kitchen appliances and everything was very clean. We will definitely use this house again next year.

GREAT BEACH WEEK AT 6 CATBOAT!
this house worked so well for us with a 13 month old (1st trip to the beach) and a 2 1/2 year old (waterbug).... cannot thank you enough for the upgrades!! Great pools, comfortable beds, outside shower......... and beach access was PERFECT!!!! One suggestion would be to add a water filter to the house....I cannot tell you how many cases of water we went through! THANK YOU FOR ONE OF OUR BEST BEACH TRIPS IN THE 13 YEARS WE HAVE BEEN MAKING BEACH MEMORIES! MAY God Bless you for all you are giving to so many people!

Newly renovated and impeccably maintained, this private Mediterranean paradise is steps to the beach
Nestled in the luxurious Palmetto Dunes Plantation, this one level Tuscan-style dream provides wonderful access to the beach and bike trails as well as Shelter Cove Harbors delightful shopping and restaurants! Newly renovated, this home is beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished with state of the art appliances. We love the access to the beach, plus a short walk to the Palmetto Dunes tennis courts, with easy access to multiple golf courses.

Wow!
This place was incredible! The inside was decorated remarkably well, and was absolutely gorgeous on the outside. The kitchen was very nice for the few nights that we didn't indulge in the great local eateries, and both pools were well-maintained and fun to have around. It was a very short walk to the beach, and it was paved, so it was very easy to carry all of our beach stuff down. This place was absolutely incredible, and I hope to be back soon!

Fantactic Property - we will be back!
Cat Boat is a great house---it has TWO pools---a huge one in front and a smaller square pool in back…perfect for the kids and the adults! It is like a brand-new home. We have vacationed in Palmetto Dunes for many years, but this was the best house we’ve ever stayed in. There is a sitting area with a fountain off the master bedroom and it’s nice to just relax and listen to the waves. The beach path is just steps from the front deck and is paved---it’s a very short walk to the beach with strollers and kids’ things in tow. The house had everything we needed---the kitchen was stocked and the living areas were spacious, allowing us to spread out. It was super-clean and very nice. We hope to return next summer!

2025 Beach Renourishment Project 2025 Beach Renourishment Project

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS provided by the TOWN OF HILTON HEAD ISLAND

Hilton Head Island's beach is crucial to both residents and the local economy. To preserve this valuable resource, the Town has planned a beach restoration project for Summer 2025, funded primarily by tourism through the local Beach Preservation Fee.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
  • The 2025 beach renourishment is expected to be similar to the previous projects in 1990, 1997, 2006 and 2016.
  • The proposed project will include the placement of approximately 2.2 million cubic yards of beach compatible sand from up to four offshore borrow areas along about 46,500 ft of Atlantic Ocean and Port Royal Sound shoreline.
  • This project is part of the Town's ongoing beach management program, with renourishment scheduled every 8 to 10 years, depending on weather and beach conditions.
  • Pine Island in Hilton Head Plantation will be included in the 2025 restoration.
SAND PLACEMENT

The proposed project will include sand placement along five areas of the island shoreline:

  1. South Beach / South Island - Approximately 750,000 cubic yards of sand along approximately 10,230 feet of the southern Atlantic Ocean shoreline.
  2. Central Island - Approximately 700,000 cubic yards along 28,860 feet of Atlantic Ocean shoreline.
  3. The Heel - Approximately 500,000 cubic yards of sand along 5,280 feet at the northeast point of the island at the intersection of the Atlantic Ocean and Port Royal Sound shoreline.
  4. Fish Haul Creek - Approximately 50,000 cubic yards of sand along about 2,130 feet of Port Royal Sound shoreline.
  5. Pine Island - Approximately 180,000 cubic yards of beach compatible sand and construction of six rock breakwaters on the Port Royal Sound shoreline of Hilton Head Plantation between Dolphin Head and Pine Island.
CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

The nourishment sand will be excavated by hydraulic dredge from two offshore shoal features.

  • Up to 50,000 feet of pipeline will be trucked or floated to the island by way of large rafts, then moved onto the beach.
  • The pipeline will be piled in stacks along the shoreline until needed during construction.
  • During construction, many miles of pipeline will be submerged on the ocean floor between the offshore borrow sites and the beach.
  • The rest of the pipeline will be laid progressively along the newly constructed beach as the fill sand is pumped on shore.

The dredge will pump a mixture of sand and seawater through the pipeline, and will discharge it onto the beach.

  • There, it will flow parallel to the shoreline - allowing the sand to settle out and the water to return to the sea.
  • Bulldozers and other heavy construction machinery will constantly shape the sand to meet the design specifications.

Project construction is expected to last approximately six months, operating around the clock.

  • On average, the process should move along the shoreline at a rate of about 200 to 300 feet per day.
  • As the fill placement progresses, approximately 1,000 foot sections of the beach are closed temporarily to pedestrian access.
  • Several days of work activity will occur seaward of any one piece of oceanfront property in the 1,000 foot active work area along the beach.
  • Once placed and rough-graded, the new beach is immediately reopened to the public.
IMPACTS ON RESIDENTS AND VISITORS
  • Construction noise will primarily involve bulldozers shaping the sand as it is deposited.
  • Disruptions at individual properties generally last about three or four days as the renourishment operation progresses.
  • Adjacent property owners, or renters, may experience short-term minor inconveniences.
