Near Perfect
We are a multigenerational family and this home was near perfect for our crowd. The showers are fabulous, the beds are very comfortable, the air conditioning works well and is quiet. The only addition would be a hand rail to get in and out of the pool and the hot tub if you have an elderly guest with mild mobility issues. Otherwise it is fabulous and you will not be disappointed.

Good place for a group
Check in was easy. Had one complaint about the pool a lot of debris had blown into it likely from the wind the night before check in, it was immediately responded to. Pool area was great. House was spacious and pretty for a large group. We loved having the bikes though one had a flat.

Location, Comfort, Convenience
Where to begin in describing this wonderful beach-front vacation home? First, location. Being just steps from the beach was a dream come true for me. In my 80's, I love to walk on the beach, so being right there was divine. Second, comfort. We were three generations of family and the house met everyone's needs perfectly. Grandchildren and great grandchildren had lots of room on the ground floor. The youngest ones loved the pool. We older folks had privacy on the second and third floors, along with stunning views from the upstairs deck. The whole family loved to gather there after dinner under the night sky listening to the sound of the surf. Third, convenience. I also love to eat and there are countless great restaurants within a 10-minute drive. Also, right nearby is Coligny Shopping center with lots of unique shops and eateries. The supermarket is close by, too. We'll definitely be back.

Steps Away from The Beach
What a wonderful beachfront property for a getaway with friends! The home has been painted inside and out since the photos were taken, and it is just beautiful. Large, spacious kitchen was very well-equipped. Beds were cozy and we appreciated the ability to spread out with bedrooms and bathrooms on all 3 floors. The views from the top floor and 2nd floor are wonderful, and it was so nice to step right off the deck and pool area right onto the beautiful beach. The beach isn't crowded at all, which we loved; but we also loved the short walk to Coligny Plaza with all the shops, nightlife and restaurants it offers. Four bicycles included in rental, which we totally enjoyed. What a wonderful property! We are looking forward to returning soon and often!

Wonderful house in a great location!
We stayed here with family for the week and had such a nice stay! The home has amazing beachfront views and you can even hear the ocean from your bed! The décor and linens in the home are cute and beachy making it feel like a cozy coastal home. We really enjoyed that the home is located in a quieter part of the beach (no condos nearby), so it wasn't too crowded but still close enough to walk or bike to Coligny for dinning and shopping. The layout of the home has 3 floors each with a couple bedrooms and its own living room space so everyone can spread out. It was great for a multi-generational family get-together! The kitchen is on the second floor (where you can admire the view) and has such a lovely large island and even had a separate beer/wine fridge. It was so nice at the end of the day to be able to walk right back up to the house on the private path through the dunes. We ended most days lounging by the pool & hot tub which were very private. If you have the chance to stay here, make sure to check out the view from the third floor deck! Overall, we loved staying at this home and can't wait to come back!

Great beach house for vacation with extended family!
We loved the beach-cottage feel of this house and the location right on the beach. Plenty of space to relax throughout the house with multiple families never feeling cramped or crowded. The second level has a gorgeous new kitchen, a living room area with windows looking out to the ocean, dining area, screened in porch, plus 2 bedrooms and a small bathroom. The lower level has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large living room area and a wetbar. The top floor has a beautiful master suite with a huge bathroom, another living room area, a laundry room, a deck that spans the whole back of the house with amazing ocean views, and a queen bed up in the loft. We thoroughly enjoyed the house, the pool, the hot tub, and close proximity to the beach during our 1-week visit. We hope to return again!

Absolutely perfect!
This was the best vacation our family has ever had. The house was nicely appointed and all the amenities we needed were right there. You could not ask for a better location or ease of use of a property. The only downfall was lack of parking but we made it work and can't wait to return here!

Start date for Hilton Head Island Beach Renourishment
Project-Phase 1 shifts to mid-August

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (January 14, 2026) Marinex Construction will begin mobilizing at Fish Haul Beach Park as part of the Town of Hilton Head Island’s beach renourishment project in mid-August. Marinex updated the new start date due to adverse weather and marine conditions affecting the transfer of materials and equipment from a site off the Florida Atlantic coast.

Originally, Marinex was scheduled to start construction at Fish Haul Beach Park off Mitchelville Road on Aug. 6. Instead, mobilization is now scheduled to take place from about Aug. 13 to Sept. 1. Active beach renourishment construction is anticipated to start during the week of Sept. 2 and be completed by the week of Sept. 15 at Fish Haul. It is anticipated that Fish Haul Beach will be closed to the public for approximately five days in early September when the beach fill begins.

This is a 24/7 project.

Despite this temporary delay, survey and pre-construction activities are ongoing, and the project team remains on track to complete the renourishment work in accordance with the contract schedule windows. "As with any project of this magnitude, we anticipate that changes may arise due to various factors. We encourage the public to stay connected with us through social media and our website for any updates regarding the beach renourishment project," said Jeff Netzinger, Director of Engineering and Public Projects for the Town.

The beach renourishment project will occur in three phases, with an anticipated completion date of May 2026. The new anticipated schedule is as follows:

  • Phase 1 - Port Royal (the Heel), Fish Haul and Pine Island
    • Complete - Contractor mobilizes in August 2025.
    • Complete - Weeks of August 13, 2025 thru September 17, 2025 - Fish Haul area
    • Complete - Weeks of September 18, 2025 thru October 10, 2025 - Pine Island
    • Complete - Weeks of October 11, 2025 thru October 17, 2025 - Port Royal (The Heel)
  • Phase 2 - Central Island, South Island and South Beach
    • Weeks of December 11, 2025 thru March 28, 2026 - Central Island, including beach areas along Palmetto Dunes
    • Weeks of March 28, 2026 thru May 31, 2026 - South Island and South Beach areas .
  • Phase 3 - Pine Island Breakwater Structures
    • Weeks of November 1, 2025 thru April 30, 2026

“It’s a priority to preserve, protect and cherish our beaches – one of our greatest assets. Our Island depends on their ongoing vitality. The Town’s role is to carry out the community’s collective dedication to this environmental core value through our investment in restoration and maintenance,” said Mayor Alan Perry. “And fortunately, due to the foresight of Town leaders before us and thanks to our millions of visitors, this project is funded through our beach preservation fund and capital improvement program.”


Beach renourishment is a moving work zone that typically progresses at about 1,000 feet per section-just 2% of the Island’s total beach area. On average, only 300 feet of beach will be impacted per day. Temporary beach access ramps and clear signage will help direct beachgoers safely around active work areas to open areas of the beach. As soon as an active site is completed, the equipment will move down the beach and the newly renourished section will open.

Special protection has been made for wildlife that may be impacted because of the project. All work will be supervised by consultant teams under contract to monitor sea turtles and migratory shorebirds. Additionally, per a requirement of the beach renourishment permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the Town amended its municipal code to restrict animal/dog activity in an area adjacent to Fish Haul Creek beach park. This requirement protects endangered shorebird species that migrate and nest there. Signage is posted and no other beach areas will be affected. Dogs are still allowed per the Town’s seasonal rules – only a small section of the creek area adjacent to the beach park is restricted.

Marinex Construction, Inc., the contractor for the project, began mobilizing equipment this month in preparation for the work. This includes positioning their offshore barges and staging miles of steel pipes to pump sand from ocean shoals back to beaches. Crews will be working around the clock daily.

The beach renourishment process helps to:

  • Preserve a healthy shoreline ecosystem for wildlife such as sea turtles and shorebirds.
  • Protect beachfront properties and infrastructure from storms.
  • Provide wider, more enjoyable beaches for residents and visitors alike.
