Wonderful stay
Our first time back to HH in 21 years and it was wonderful. This house suited our needs perfectly. We made great use of the screened porch and deck. Walking down to the beach was a treat as the dolphins were almost always there to put on a show for us. We had a couple of minor issues and they were addressed immediately. The location is perfect. Close to South Beach Marina and easy to access the bike path which we utilized every day. Can’t wait to come back!

Great Couples Getaway
My partner and I recently stayed at this stunning waterfront property in Hilton Head for a much-needed couples retreat, and it exceeded every expectation. The location is absolutely perfect—right on the water, offering breathtaking views that instantly set a relaxing tone. We enjoyed peaceful mornings sipping coffee on the deck, listening to the gentle sound of the waves, and watching the sunrise over the water. The house itself is immaculate, beautifully furnished, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed to feel right at home. Loved this VRBO! The layout is great, the beds are comfy, it's literally a one minute walk to the beach, has great views, there is a small general store nearby, the kitchen is well stocked in terms of dishes / pans / utensils (but literally zero spices, not even salt and pepper), there's entertainment in the living room (lots of books from the best seller list, a bunch of puzzles, crayons, and a few games), and we especially loved the screened in porch. All four adults and all four elementary aged kids thought the whole house was great! Two things we would change 1) the front door lock was complicated and took us more than a few tries to figure out and the kids never figured out how to work it 2) we ended up using regular towels at the beach the first day because we couldn't find the beach towels.The beach towels are in a not obvious place on top of the washing machine behind a closet door. But honestly, such small complaints for an overall amazing property. You won't regret staying here. Oh, also bring your own blackout curtains if you have young kids or are coming from Pacific Time zone. The plantation shutters let in SOO much light in the morning. It's really easy to put your blackout curtain in front of the window then close the shutter on the curtain to make it stay in place. You'll need two curtains per bedroom.

Everything was great!
Everything was great from how easy it was to book the house to the service while we were here. Our grill wasn't working and after calling we had a new one the next day. The house was clean came with bikes and a credit towards other beach gear. We've booked with The Vacation Company for several years and will continue to in the future.

Best vacation ever!
Beautiful home only steps from the sound side of the island. We loved playing on the beach, swimming, and watching the dolphins play! Being a short walk or bike from Salty Dog cafe and ice cream shop was a plus. We love being in the Sea Pines Resort area. We will be back again!

The location of this property is perfect! We were able to walk to many places including restaurants, bars, shops, pickle and tennis courts and if the distance was a bit too far, we used bikes that were included with the rental. We all enjoyed watching the dolphins from our back porch every evening and having meals in the screened in porch. Kitchen was well stocked for making meals. The few problems we had were promptly fixed within the hour of calling. Suggestions would be extra kitchen towels and new or cleaned grill. We would definitely rent again!

Perfect getaway spot
What a beautiful, cozy vacation home! You can’t beat the easy access to the beach right from your back door. We saw dolphins each day of our stay right in our “backyard”. The Vacation Company that manages the property were wonderful to work with and very accommodating. The house has 4 bikes waiting there for renters to use. They were a real treat. We loved exploring the trails of Sea Pines and riding the beach when the rain stopped. Definitely recommend a stay at this vacation home. None of us wanted to leave.

Perfect Beachside Vacation Home
We had an amazing stay at 9 Lands End. The location was perfect, with the beach literally steps away, as was the community pool. The house itself was newly renovated and beautiful. It came equipped with everything a guest would need and there was plenty of room for 8 adults to gather in the public spaces, as well as private spaces in the bedrooms. The view from the backside of the house, including the screened in porch and the large deck was spectacular. The sunsets were beautiful. We would stay there again for sure.

Great condo!
We had a great week in this condo. The property is just as it on in photos! Was gutted ceiling to floor. Everything brand new! Very clean. Had everything we needed in kitchen. View and screened in porch were Favorite things. We did have a problem with our dryer. It was not working. They did try to get parts and fix it, but never came in. They were however the most polite rental company and always got back with us and gave us partial refund for the inconvenience. So I’d say that’s a 5/5. We’d definitively stay here again.

Beautiful
This property is so much prettier in person than on the website. We loved the fact the kitchen was well appointed with everything you would need. The view was spectacular and we loved watching the deer and dolphins in the mornings while having our coffee. The only suggestion we could make is that a map of the island and maybe a book with suggestions for dinner for first time visitors like our group be made available. We love reading about others dining suggestions when visiting new places. This is a great place and we thank you for sharing it with us.

Great Family Vacation in Hilton Head
We had a fantastic stay. Everything was as described and it's a great location. There's a walkway from the back deck down to the beach. A true vacation!
The facilities were exactly as represented. We had tons of space and the location was great. We cooked our breakfasts and lunches and went out to wonderful dinners. We had deer sightings in the backyard and gorgeous sunsets.

Gorgeous views!
This was our first time to stay in this home, but definitely not our last! The best part of this house is the spectacular view of the beach with all the beautiful pine trees lining it! We loved getting up in the morning seeing that view and enjoying our breakfasts on the porch! We loved it and have already booked it again for next year!

Start date for Hilton Head Island Beach Renourishment
Project-Phase 1 shifts to mid-August

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (January 14, 2026) Marinex Construction will begin mobilizing at Fish Haul Beach Park as part of the Town of Hilton Head Island’s beach renourishment project in mid-August. Marinex updated the new start date due to adverse weather and marine conditions affecting the transfer of materials and equipment from a site off the Florida Atlantic coast.

Originally, Marinex was scheduled to start construction at Fish Haul Beach Park off Mitchelville Road on Aug. 6. Instead, mobilization is now scheduled to take place from about Aug. 13 to Sept. 1. Active beach renourishment construction is anticipated to start during the week of Sept. 2 and be completed by the week of Sept. 15 at Fish Haul. It is anticipated that Fish Haul Beach will be closed to the public for approximately five days in early September when the beach fill begins.

This is a 24/7 project.

Despite this temporary delay, survey and pre-construction activities are ongoing, and the project team remains on track to complete the renourishment work in accordance with the contract schedule windows. "As with any project of this magnitude, we anticipate that changes may arise due to various factors. We encourage the public to stay connected with us through social media and our website for any updates regarding the beach renourishment project," said Jeff Netzinger, Director of Engineering and Public Projects for the Town.

The beach renourishment project will occur in three phases, with an anticipated completion date of May 2026. The new anticipated schedule is as follows:

  • Phase 1 - Port Royal (the Heel), Fish Haul and Pine Island
    • Complete - Contractor mobilizes in August 2025.
    • Complete - Weeks of August 13, 2025 thru September 17, 2025 - Fish Haul area
    • Complete - Weeks of September 18, 2025 thru October 10, 2025 - Pine Island
    • Complete - Weeks of October 11, 2025 thru October 17, 2025 - Port Royal (The Heel)
  • Phase 2 - Central Island, South Island and South Beach
    • Weeks of December 11, 2025 thru March 28, 2026 - Central Island, including beach areas along Palmetto Dunes
    • Weeks of March 28, 2026 thru May 31, 2026 - South Island and South Beach areas .
  • Phase 3 - Pine Island Breakwater Structures
    • Weeks of November 1, 2025 thru April 30, 2026

Beach renourishment is a moving work zone that typically progresses at about 1,000 feet per section-just 2% of the Island’s total beach area. On average, only 300 feet of beach will be impacted per day. Temporary beach access ramps and clear signage will help direct beachgoers safely around active work areas to open areas of the beach. As soon as an active site is completed, the equipment will move down the beach and the newly renourished section will open.

Special protection has been made for wildlife that may be impacted because of the project. All work will be supervised by consultant teams under contract to monitor sea turtles and migratory shorebirds. Additionally, per a requirement of the beach renourishment permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the Town amended its municipal code to restrict animal/dog activity in an area adjacent to Fish Haul Creek beach park. This requirement protects endangered shorebird species that migrate and nest there. Signage is posted and no other beach areas will be affected. Dogs are still allowed per the Town’s seasonal rules – only a small section of the creek area adjacent to the beach park is restricted.

Marinex Construction, Inc., the contractor for the project, began mobilizing equipment this month in preparation for the work. This includes positioning their offshore barges and staging miles of steel pipes to pump sand from ocean shoals back to beaches. Crews will be working around the clock daily.
