This 6 bedroom, 4.5 bath beach house has everything you need for an island escape. The double porches encourage rest and relaxation. A backyard with a pool and bar is the perfect place for fun in the sun. The kitchen, living room, and dining room are on the second floor and open to the upper porch, where you can see glimpses of the ocean just ahead. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and comfortable. A third-floor king suite has fantastic views of the ocean and an added living area. The funky beach vibe of the home invites fun! All this and just a few steps down a sandy path to the beach.

Perfect Vacation
It was my first time in Hilton Head as was for most of our group of eight friends who travel quite often together. We came from seven different cities and two states. 24 Dune Lane was beautiful, spacious, and clean. Three of us from the Group live near the beach but we have to drive there. This literally was steps from the beach. What a luxury that was for us! Sitting by the pool or on the porches in the morning in the evening was wonderful. It is walking distance to the market, restaurants, and stores. I sure hope hope we will be returning to 24 Dune in Hilton Head.

Hilton Head Heaven!
Eight close, friends traveled from the Philadelphia area to 24 Dune St. We were delighted by the accommodations! Beach lovers all, with our destination steps away! The house was beautiful! The artwork was placed expertly. Great outdoor and indoor living spaces were all interesting, beautiful, and roomy. The pool was a great asset. I hope we will return every year! Hilton Head, SC is a great vacation place to be!

Beautiful House!!!
This is a beautiful house in a perfect location. The house decor is gorgeous and everything is comfortable! The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfy, and the pool is perfect! The porches are the excellent for sitting and enjoying the view. The beautiful private beach is steps away. I highly recommend 24 Dune Lane. I'll be going back again next year!

Great property!
Really enjoyed our time in this property! It was perfect for our extended family with the 6 bedrooms and well stocked kitchen! We made most of our meals there. The elevator was so handy and we are glad we spent the money to heat the pool which we all enjoyed! Piggly Wiggly grocery was nearby for all our supply needs. The walk to the beach was perfect and the bikes made the longer commutes so fun! We hope to be back next year!

Great home
Home was very nice and so close to walk right to the beach. Plenty of room for our big family. We had a few things like a broken garage door and clogged sink and broken coffee pot but we call and they had it fixed that day. The only other issue we had didn't happen until the last couple days and it was the spa did not hold water. It must have a crack in it or something. The pool was wonderful after a hot day in the beach. We will return for sure

Beautiful home near attractions
We loved the location of this house. Walking to the Piggly Wiggly and lunch spots was a highlight. Beautiful sunrises on the porch enjoying breakfast and coffee. Plenty of gathering room to watch tv, or dine together. So close to the beach- we loved lounging on the sand and saw many dolphins! We will be back!

Wonderful Vacation
Our family had the most wonderful vacation at Almost Heaven. The beach is so close and that is where we spent most of our time. We loved to cook in the well-stocked, gourmet kitchen and then spend our evenings chatting on the porch enjoying the ocean breeze. The beds were all so comfortable and we had a great time renting bikes and heading to Coligny Plaza each day for shopping or ice cream. I cannot recommend this property enough!

Beautiful house!!!
Such an amazing house. The proximity to the beach and to Coligny is so convenient. The house was super clean, spacious, and well stocked. We enjoyed sitting out on the porch. Such a fun house!!

The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed for a family of 12 . We cooked in every night but the location is close to shopping for short outings for a drink or ice cream. The beach was steps away and we really enjoyed the bikes included with the rental as well as the beach chairs which we used our rental credit for . The outside railings needed some maintenance but nothing that interfered with our wonderful family vacation week. I would definitely rent this house again .

Project-Phase 1 shifts to mid-August

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (January 14, 2026) Marinex Construction will begin mobilizing at Fish Haul Beach Park as part of the Town of Hilton Head Island’s beach renourishment project in mid-August. Marinex updated the new start date due to adverse weather and marine conditions affecting the transfer of materials and equipment from a site off the Florida Atlantic coast.

Originally, Marinex was scheduled to start construction at Fish Haul Beach Park off Mitchelville Road on Aug. 6. Instead, mobilization is now scheduled to take place from about Aug. 13 to Sept. 1. Active beach renourishment construction is anticipated to start during the week of Sept. 2 and be completed by the week of Sept. 15 at Fish Haul. It is anticipated that Fish Haul Beach will be closed to the public for approximately five days in early September when the beach fill begins.

This is a 24/7 project.

Despite this temporary delay, survey and pre-construction activities are ongoing, and the project team remains on track to complete the renourishment work in accordance with the contract schedule windows. "As with any project of this magnitude, we anticipate that changes may arise due to various factors. We encourage the public to stay connected with us through social media and our website for any updates regarding the beach renourishment project," said Jeff Netzinger, Director of Engineering and Public Projects for the Town.

The beach renourishment project will occur in three phases, with an anticipated completion date of May 2026. The new anticipated schedule is as follows:

  • Phase 1 - Port Royal (the Heel), Fish Haul and Pine Island
    • Complete - Contractor mobilizes in August 2025.
    • Complete - Weeks of August 13, 2025 thru September 17, 2025 - Fish Haul area
    • Complete - Weeks of September 18, 2025 thru October 10, 2025 - Pine Island
    • Complete - Weeks of October 11, 2025 thru October 17, 2025 - Port Royal (The Heel)
  • Phase 2 - Central Island, South Island and South Beach
    • Weeks of December 11, 2025 thru March 28, 2026 - Central Island, including beach areas along Palmetto Dunes
    • Weeks of March 28, 2026 thru May 31, 2026 - South Island and South Beach areas .
  • Phase 3 - Pine Island Breakwater Structures
    • Weeks of November 1, 2025 thru April 30, 2026

“It’s a priority to preserve, protect and cherish our beaches – one of our greatest assets. Our Island depends on their ongoing vitality. The Town’s role is to carry out the community’s collective dedication to this environmental core value through our investment in restoration and maintenance,” said Mayor Alan Perry. “And fortunately, due to the foresight of Town leaders before us and thanks to our millions of visitors, this project is funded through our beach preservation fund and capital improvement program.”


Beach renourishment is a moving work zone that typically progresses at about 1,000 feet per section-just 2% of the Island’s total beach area. On average, only 300 feet of beach will be impacted per day. Temporary beach access ramps and clear signage will help direct beachgoers safely around active work areas to open areas of the beach. As soon as an active site is completed, the equipment will move down the beach and the newly renourished section will open.

Special protection has been made for wildlife that may be impacted because of the project. All work will be supervised by consultant teams under contract to monitor sea turtles and migratory shorebirds. Additionally, per a requirement of the beach renourishment permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the Town amended its municipal code to restrict animal/dog activity in an area adjacent to Fish Haul Creek beach park. This requirement protects endangered shorebird species that migrate and nest there. Signage is posted and no other beach areas will be affected. Dogs are still allowed per the Town’s seasonal rules – only a small section of the creek area adjacent to the beach park is restricted.

Marinex Construction, Inc., the contractor for the project, began mobilizing equipment this month in preparation for the work. This includes positioning their offshore barges and staging miles of steel pipes to pump sand from ocean shoals back to beaches. Crews will be working around the clock daily.

The beach renourishment process helps to:

  • Preserve a healthy shoreline ecosystem for wildlife such as sea turtles and shorebirds.
  • Protect beachfront properties and infrastructure from storms.
  • Provide wider, more enjoyable beaches for residents and visitors alike.
