Just perfect!
We were an extended family, six adults, a toddler and a baby. This location was perfect for us. Easy short walking path to beach, easy for wagon, baby carriage, or quick sunrise/sunset stroll. Yard has two driveways so you can park 2 or 3 cars. Relaxing porch with rockers. Back yard has nice clean pool, small hot tub, and gas grill. The luxurious house is in a quiet neighborhood and very close to beach via little walking path. Inside the house was perfect for us, with our daughter's young family in the main floor suite, as we were worried about stairs with a toddler & baby. Second floor has 3 nicely separated bedrooms, each with their own baths. The house is truly lovely with a GIANT luxury kitchen that had everything we needed...we cooked and baked and dined in all week for 6 adults and 2 babies. A screen porch with bathroom, plus two large living rooms on first floor, and an open lounge living room on second floor. Some additional activities we enjoyed were golfing at various courses on island, thrift shopping, visiting Lawton Stable with the littles, beach walks, beach bike ride to big playground near Coligny Park, Duck Donuts, nature walks, going out for coffee, dinner at Alexanders. We would definitely love to rent this house again in the future. It was very clean, had every amenity you could think of, and was spacious, tastefully decorated, and large enough for a group to spread out and enjoy a movie, prepare and serve a large or small meals, enjoy a book, a soak in the little hot tub, a rock on the porch, a nap on the back patio, or some playtime in various locations throughout the large house. Terms should be clearer regarding the permitted use of the plethora of vacation/beach supplies in the garage, as we ended up pre-buying & renting a lot of unnecessary stuff that was already stocked at the house....chairs, wagon, bikes, sand/beach toys, etc. seemed wasteful for us to have to rent and buy things which were already stocked at the house in large quantities.

Excellent home in amazing location!
The home exceeded everyone’s expectations! We had everything we needed and plenty of space to roam around. The location also couldn’t be beat as we walked along the beach several times a day. I appreciate the owners making this wonderful property available and look forward to returning in the future!

Two weeks SeaPines
We couldn't ask for a better rental property (house, pool, cleanliness, proximity to beach.) After 48 years of renting beach homes up and down the Carolina shores, this was the absolute best. It was such a pleasure not having to spend hours cleaning the house after the "cleaning" crew left. It was obvious that both the owner and rental agency anticipated all the renters needs. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had age ranges from 2.5 - 70 and this property accommodated all of us. We had plenty of room to spread out and be together. The walk to the beach was short and easy. The wagon provided was so helpful! A few more pans in the kitchen would have been helpful (large skillet and griddle for pancakes) but the overall kitchen space was lovely. We hope to be back!

There were plenty of linens, beach towels, and beach supplies. The guest connect portal was very helpful in navigating check in and check out procedures, pool and spa details, renting additional bikes, etc. the location of the house is ideal, situated in Sea Pines such that favorite destinations such as Harbor Town, Salty Dog, Coligny, etc. are all within a comfortable bike ride. We have been renting family vacation homes across the country for the last decade, and our experience at this BEAUTIFUL home in Sea Pines now ranks at the top of our list. We are now an active outdoor family of 12 (ranging in age from 6 mos to 70+) with a variety of interests readily provided in Hilton Head, but we also love relaxing at home, and we all love to cook and take turns preparing meals for "the gang""! The kitchen at Oceanside was EXCEPTIONAL AND WELL ORGANIZED WITH EVERYTHING A BIG FAMILY NEEDS! The 6 burner stove

Incredible Property
This is such a great home with the perfect location in Sea Pines. Very spacious open floor plan, large bedrooms, private pool, screen porch, short walk to the beach, bike path just outside the front door...what else could you ask for. The owner has obviously spared no expense to make sure this luxury home has everything needed for a great Hilton Head vacation. This property is definitely our first choice anytime we visit Sea Pines.

Beautiful Home, Great Week
We really enjoyed staying at 13 Duck Hawk Rd. The house was so spacious for our three families. It was bigger than we expected. We didn't have to be all huddled in one part of the home in the evening. The loft with a big TV and game table was hit with the kids. There was also a den to escape to for business or just relaxation (to watch a different ballgame). The kitchen appeared to have all new appliances. Having a first floor master was a bonus. The screened porch was a must on our search and it was great that it overlooked the pool area. We've rented in Sea Pines in the past and I think this pool area was the most private I've seen, with no neighbor noise at all. We really enjoyed the heated pool and spa in the cool October evenings. The walk to the beach was only three minutes. We will definitely being staying at this property again next year.

Awesome House
Incredible house that allowed our two families to spread out and relax. Great location on a quiet street with only a three-four minute walk to the beach. The first floor master walked out to the pool area and had a large master bath and closet. We were so pleasantly surprised that the house offered separate private areas for tv watching or just getting away, including a family room, a gorgeous two-story great room, a large loft and a first floor study. The older kids didn't have to be secluded in bedrooms if they didn't want to hang out with the adults. The study with the pullout sofa was great for our young kids because they could sleep near us and it also connected to the master bath. The secondary bedrooms were all large with their own private baths. The kitchen was huge with all new appliances including two convection ovens and a gas cooktop. The extra refrigerator in the service area and a separate icemaker were great conveniences. There was a very nice screened porch overlooking the pool area which was a great place to have a meal or unwind in the evening as kids were still swimming. The pool area looked recently renovated as was very private. The house was immaculate at check-in. The Vacation Company made the check-in process simple and were always readily available to answer any questions. Looking forward to staying at this property again next year.

UNPACK YOUR BAGS AND JUST RELAX!

We are now an active outdoor family of 12 (ranging in age from 6 mos to 70+) with a variety of interests readily provided in Hilton Head, but we also love relaxing at home, and we all love to cook and take turns preparing meals for "the gang"! The kitchen at Oceanside was EXCEPTIONAL AND WELL ORGANIZED WITH EVERYTHING A BIG FAMILY NEEDS! The 6 burner stove, refrigerated wine bar, an extra refrigerator/ freezer in the utility room (eliminating the need for an extra cooler to keep cold beer on ice), ample cookware, bakeware, pizza pans, glasses, and dishes, even a large lobster pot (which we used for a traditional crab dinner) was VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. THIS LOVELY HOME WAS SPACIOUS, with enough room to let our young grandchildren (sometimes Grandpa too!) nap undisturbed in the afternoon, while the rest of the family enjoyed the heated pool and spa (necessary in April), screened in porch, and front porch rocking chairs! The only cautionary note would be for families with ONLY young children, as the long flight of stairs to the second floor was a challenge with a curious toddler and babies in the family. We would also like to thank the property management company for their friendly, courteous, and quick response over a holiday weekend to respond to a minor repair in one of the bathrooms, and a large swarm of yellow jackets nesting in the back porch railing. WE HAD A GREAT TIME!!!

2025 Beach Renourishment Project 2025 Beach Renourishment Project

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS provided by the TOWN OF HILTON HEAD ISLAND

Hilton Head Island's beach is crucial to both residents and the local economy. To preserve this valuable resource, the Town has planned a beach restoration project for Summer 2025, funded primarily by tourism through the local Beach Preservation Fee.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
  • The 2025 beach renourishment is expected to be similar to the previous projects in 1990, 1997, 2006 and 2016.
  • The proposed project will include the placement of approximately 2.2 million cubic yards of beach compatible sand from up to four offshore borrow areas along about 46,500 ft of Atlantic Ocean and Port Royal Sound shoreline.
  • This project is part of the Town's ongoing beach management program, with renourishment scheduled every 8 to 10 years, depending on weather and beach conditions.
  • Pine Island in Hilton Head Plantation will be included in the 2025 restoration.
SAND PLACEMENT

The proposed project will include sand placement along five areas of the island shoreline:

  1. South Beach / South Island - Approximately 750,000 cubic yards of sand along approximately 10,230 feet of the southern Atlantic Ocean shoreline.
  2. Central Island - Approximately 700,000 cubic yards along 28,860 feet of Atlantic Ocean shoreline.
  3. The Heel - Approximately 500,000 cubic yards of sand along 5,280 feet at the northeast point of the island at the intersection of the Atlantic Ocean and Port Royal Sound shoreline.
  4. Fish Haul Creek - Approximately 50,000 cubic yards of sand along about 2,130 feet of Port Royal Sound shoreline.
  5. Pine Island - Approximately 180,000 cubic yards of beach compatible sand and construction of six rock breakwaters on the Port Royal Sound shoreline of Hilton Head Plantation between Dolphin Head and Pine Island.
CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

The nourishment sand will be excavated by hydraulic dredge from two offshore shoal features.

  • Up to 50,000 feet of pipeline will be trucked or floated to the island by way of large rafts, then moved onto the beach.
  • The pipeline will be piled in stacks along the shoreline until needed during construction.
  • During construction, many miles of pipeline will be submerged on the ocean floor between the offshore borrow sites and the beach.
  • The rest of the pipeline will be laid progressively along the newly constructed beach as the fill sand is pumped on shore.

The dredge will pump a mixture of sand and seawater through the pipeline, and will discharge it onto the beach.

  • There, it will flow parallel to the shoreline - allowing the sand to settle out and the water to return to the sea.
  • Bulldozers and other heavy construction machinery will constantly shape the sand to meet the design specifications.

Project construction is expected to last approximately six months, operating around the clock.

  • On average, the process should move along the shoreline at a rate of about 200 to 300 feet per day.
  • As the fill placement progresses, approximately 1,000 foot sections of the beach are closed temporarily to pedestrian access.
  • Several days of work activity will occur seaward of any one piece of oceanfront property in the 1,000 foot active work area along the beach.
  • Once placed and rough-graded, the new beach is immediately reopened to the public.
IMPACTS ON RESIDENTS AND VISITORS
  • Construction noise will primarily involve bulldozers shaping the sand as it is deposited.
  • Disruptions at individual properties generally last about three or four days as the renourishment operation progresses.
  • Adjacent property owners, or renters, may experience short-term minor inconveniences.
