Ready, set, go.  This incredible Sea Pines beach house has family vacation written all over it.  5 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms and just a whistle away from the ocean in a sandy little nook off North Sea Pines Drive, the HEATED* pool and spa next to the private beach path is only the beginning. THIS HOUSE WANTS YOUR FAMILY, your cousins' family, and your boss' family now and all at the same time! The 3-car garage to the side is where you'll park gas-powered vehicles at check-in, and basically forget they are there for the rest of the week, because you're within bike-riding, beach-walking distance to SUN, SAND, LIVE MUSIC, DOLPHIN-WATCHING, AND MARGARITAS... in almost exactly that order at 7 Wood Ibis.

The home welcomes you immediately with rocking chairs on the front porch as you walk up a well-designed pebble/brick-trimmed path.  Inside, high ceilings and light-colored, large tiled-flooring enhance an open-flow feel, while large, COMFORTABLE FURNISHINGS TELL YOU TO...relax, you're on vacation.  Large, dark-wooden framed wall hangings, grass rugs, and rough-hewn whicker-back chairs, accented by the coolest bamboo blinds you'll ever see, reconfirm your instincts to bring everyone here this week.

Extra care and planning went into the decor and details such as an ENORMOUS WALL-MOUNTED FLAT-SCREEN TV ABOVE THE FIREPLACE  (2 of the 3 living areas have wall-mounted tv's) while classic board games stack up in the cabinet - Battleship, anyone? - to the left.  Rustic elegance, if there is such a thing, along with durable fabrics and colors, it seems the owners of this house have somehow managed the impossible; to make you feel special and pampered, and still be unafraid of what your kids might do while you're taking a nap.

Okay, the nuts and bolts... Big, airy kitchen with an island stove/eating bar - seating for 3 - breakfast/lunch table - seating for 6 - easy cooking and cleaning with smooth, dark granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.  PLENTY OF WALKING SPACE AROUND THE ISLAND, like the wide hallways and corridors everywhere here (unbelievable room for running children while you have your hands full).  Doors and stairways to the right of the entryway each lead to separate guest rooms, and living areas, which is great when breaking away for quiet time or some privacy.

The 1st of these rooms is a simple room, perfect for Aunt Mary, with a daybed that's as big as a twin, a desk for writing letters long-hand, and private bath.  The next door leads to a master bedroom with king bedding, a huge floor-to-ceiling wall-leaning mirror (I love these - remind me of the rich, spoiled Romans), wall-mounted flat-screen tv, walk-in closet, and full bath with separate tiled standing shower and bath tub with jets (this is where I usually start hitting those high notes as I write.  Try singing the word, 'jets', in a high C, and you get the idea).

A staircase leads to a landing area converted to a 3rd den with wall-mounted tv and a wet bar.  Excellent place for late-nighters waiting for delivery pizza.  Off of this landing area are 3 more bedrooms.  1 with 2 twin beds, 1 with 2 queen-size beds, and 1 with a king, and each has a full private bathroom.  This Sea Pines vacation home has it all for multi-family vacationers, from BIG, EASY, DOORKNOBS AND SAFE HARDWARE to the uncluttered floors and walls, and high ceiling fans, to the FREE wireless Internet access throughout, you will be so glad you brought everyone this year.
