The service we received from The Vacation Company was excellent. We had some small problems with the rental unit that were taken care of by The Vacation Company personnel immediately. We rented a 2-story, 3-bedroom, 3 bath villa in Shipmaster in Shipyard Plantation. The unit is updated and comfortable. The location is very convenient to Coligny Circle with its many restaurants and shops. It's also very convenient to the beach and to golf. The only problems with the villa are that it has a ceiling fan in only one of the 3 bedrooms, the dining room chairs could use cushions, all the beds need new pillows and the bedding in the twin bedroom needs to be replaced. Otherwise, the house had a nicely equipped kitchen and was very comfortable for 6 people.

The unit is in a great, central location. It is a short bike ride to beach or Coligny Plaza. As for the unit itself, it appears to have been remodeled. It is very nicely decorated. The decor is warm & inviting. Having TVs in each room was nice. The bathrooms are updated with the exception of the bathtubs/tile. All the bedrooms are nicely decorated & beds were comfy. The kitchen is pretty well stocked. A few more spoons (only had 3), glass casserole dishes & a skillet for bacon, pancakes, etc would be nice addition. The kitchen is very small and gets a little tight when more than 2 people are moving around. The refrigerator took a while to cool down but after the 2nd day appeared to do ok. The a/C works great downstairs but the upstairs is very warm, esp during the day. They do provide fans in the upstairs bedrooms. We noticed the a/C vents are old, rusty, and just need to be replaced. As for the cleanliness of the unit, housekeeping needs to be a little more thorough. The front entry was full of leaves, cobwebs, & spiders when we arrived. The chairs on the front patio were so dirty we didn't even use them. Inside, the baseboards were dirty with dust, spiderwebs, etc collecting in the corners. There was also a huge spiderweb in the upper corner of the family room. We had to kill two roaches in the upstairs bedroom. All the sliding glass doors/tracks were filthy & full of cobwebs. We didn't even open the ones in bedrooms because there was so much grit & spiderwebs. The back porch was very dirty as well. We had to go buy a grill brush to clean the grill before using. The ignitor switch was broken so we had to light it manually. The back sliding door does not lock. It is secured by a piece of wood in the tracks. Even with the wood you could open the door a few inches. Having a washer/dryer/iron was nice. I would suggest adding a broom/dustpan to unit. Overall, this unit is very nice. The issues are mainly housekeeping issues that need to be adressed. We had a fun week!

The property, a 3 bedroom townhouse,was very accomodating for my family of 8 (4 adults, 2 children). The unit was beuatifully decorated and clean. I would stay there when returning to Hilton Head.

Our tennis team stayed here while playing in the Sectionals. There were 2 minor problems that Vacation Company promptly solved!
