was founded in 1987 as a short-term rental and property management
company on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Our rental properties
are located on the southern half of Hilton Head in the communities
of Sea Pines, Shipyard, Forest Beach, and Palmetto Dunes. We manage
over one hundred quality villas and fifty custom homes.
During the last five years, we have been one of the fastest growing
management companies on Hilton Head. We are proud of our continued

Bob Hawkins and Beth Henzler are long-time Hilton Head residents
and the owners of The Vacation Company. Beth is a 15 year resident
of Hilton Head with a retail marketing and interior decorating background
before joining The Vacation Company ten years ago.
Bob has been a resident of Hilton Head for 25 years. After a career
marketing computers for IBM, he joined the Sea Pines Associates
in 1986 and was a leader in the purchase of major property assets
from the bankruptcy of the old Hilton Head Holdings conglomerate.
He then served as director of marketing and resort rentals for the
Sea Pines Company until he purchased The Vacation Company in 1992.
In 2002, we added over one hundred luxury villas on the Caribbean
Islands of St. Martin and Barbados as vacation destinations for
our guests. These gorgeous homes are located on two of the most
popular and largest islands with beautiful beaches and a myriad
of activities. They are also easily reached by air with direct flights
from most East Coast cities. We now offer sunny island holidays
for all seasons throughout the year.

for guests who have requested more information. On-line availability and booking directly from the internet
is becoming more popular. This is available from our Web site and
is also available to owners who wish to inquire about the rental
